About Alfredo Quintana

Alfredo Quintana Garay (1974) studied Communication Sciences at ITESM. He began making collages in the 1990s, influenced by artists such as Max Ernst. In 2001, he published the poetry and collage plaquette, Primavera de carroñas (Carrion Spring). In addition to directing the magazine Conozca Más (2004–2013), he has written for magazines such as Robb Report México, Time Out México, and Picnic. Since 2013, he has been creating analog and digital collages as Tintorera and teaching workshops. He has published in magazines such as the Spanish Tapas Magazine (where he published a portfolio awarded by the Society for News Design in 2016), Esquire México (where he wrote and illustrated a column from 2015 to 2019), and Forbes España. In 2019, he participated in the group exhibition Aglomeraciones (Aglomerations), organized by Art Latinou at the Semanario de Cultura Mexicana (Mexican Cultural Weekly). In 2020, Alfredo participated in the first edition of the BADA (Buenos Aires Directo de Artista) fair in Mexico City. In 2022, he exhibited at Moloch Galería-Taller as part of the projects Pingüica, a science and art magazine, and the 5th Colloquium on Sustainable Design and Social Innovation at FAD UNAM. Alfredo is preparing a solo exhibition at this same gallery for February 2023.
