About Alfredo Quintana Garay
Alfredo Quintana Garay (1974) studied Communication Sciences at ITESM. He began making collages in the 1990s, influenced by artists like Max Ernst. In 2001, he published the poetry and collage chapbook, Primavera de carroñas. In addition to directing Conozca Más magazine (2004-2013), he has written for magazines such as Robb Report México, Time Out México, and Picnic. Since 2013, he has been creating analog and digital collages as Tintorera and teaching workshops. He has published in magazines such as the Spanish Tapas Magazine (where he published a portfolio awarded by the Society For News Design in 2016), Esquire México (where he wrote and illustrated a column from 2015 to 2019), Gatopardo, and Forbes Spain. In 2019, he participated in the group exhibition Aglomeraciones, organized by Art Latinou at the Semanario de Cultura Mexicana. In 2020, Alfredo was part of the BADA (Buenos Aires Directo de Artista) fair in its first edition in CDMX. In 2023, he exhibited the collage series Jesus in Wonderland and Humano que fue pájaro at Moloch Galería-Taller. He is part of the virtual gallery Capital del Arte and the Puebla gallery Ölen. In 2025, he inaugurated the solo exhibition El demonio de la posibilidad, at the Regional Culture Center of Texcoco. He is featured in the book 101 Art Book: Collage Edition (2026), edited by Arts to Hearts.
